OOC| This is a flashback thread to the first day that Rick reunited with his family. Only Atlanta survivors that were alive during this may reply. If a character is not taken yet (ex: Lori), you may include them in your posts still as they were technically there if your character is interacting with them. Saw people saying there was more to this episode concerning Ed, etc. in the cbox so here ya go! Don't need to follow exactly everything that happened in the episode either.
It was a beautiful sight, the campsite that is. It was outside the city which had been full of walkers. Still a good distance from the city which allowed some safety for the group. Walkers were rare to find near the campsite, they rarely made their way up to the camp. This was due to the fact that a majority of them were still in the city, feeding on corpses that remained in the city. The campsite not only offered safety, but food. The trees were full of life due to the summer air. Dark green leaves remained on the branches, untouched by anyone. The land had been marked to be ripped apart for more expansion of buildings. If the outbreak was good for anything, it was the prevention of expansion. It allowed the trees to continue to grow. The wildlife in the woods was able to remain living where they had been living for the past years. Atleast living until they were hunted down by humans or walkers whichever came first. Walking through the forest quietly was a man in a sleeveless light tan shirt. The shirt was filthy from the combination of sweat and dirt. Matching the shirt was the man's face which was fully focused on the task at hand. For a few miles, he had been tracking a deer. He had actually been tracking it for days since stumbling upon the deer in the first place. Today would be the day that he would manage a good meal for him and his brother. His older brother had gone into the city with some of the group members, hoping to find some supplies. It wasn't his job to supply Merle with food, but they took turns hunting when the other wasn't at the camp. Maybe, he would share with the rest of the group.
How did the two brothers stumble upon the group? They had ran into the group when they were low on supplies, so they decided to tag along with the group. Despite joining the group, Daryl never fit in with the group. He stayed out of the conversations of plans. If Merle and him didn't agree with anything, they could leave. They had no attachments to the people in the group, so they didn't feel as if they needed to stay with them. Merle was well known more for running his big mouth. He especially had a hate towards T-Dog and even the women. Ed and him got along the best out of the group. Daryl didn't care much for the differences in the group, sharing the same views as his brother. However, he never talked to Ed. Ed reminded him too much of his own father for him to allow himself to know the guy. Shane was the one that he would mainly disagree with, the most. The guy didn't know how to lead at all. Daryl knew that he had no honor of protecting the whole group. As the leader, he should have worries of the whole group not just Carl and Lori. The summer air had caused plenty of the group members to not agree on things. It made them irritated with each other since they were out in the heat all day, every day. Wiping his left hand on his light blue jeans, he continued to track the deer. His hand had some dirt on it from bending down to look closer at the dirt. There was no big deal about wiping dirt onto his pants considering they were covered with dirt. Rather than a light blue, they looked like a dusty blue due to the dirt. In his hands was his crossbow, something that he had before the outbreak. It was the one weapon that he hunted with the most meaning he had plenty of experience with it. The arrows with the crossbow for now, were the original arrows that had come with it. Surely, he'd lose them as he had to kill more walkers. It wouldn't make a difference as making arrows out of wood wouldn't be difficult at all.
